In a 2008 episode of “California Gold,” host Huell Howser toured Coachella. The video recently resurfaced online. It is amazing.

If you grew up in Southern California, you know the late Huell Howser as the host of “California Gold,” a travel show that aired on KCET, which explores the natural, cultural, and historical features of the state of California. Before Howser passed in 2013, he had an opportunity to explore the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in 2008.

This particular year, Jack Johnson, Portishead, Death Cab for Cutie and Roger Waters were the headliners, way before the festival turned into a multi-weekend affair. Funny, because Calvin Harris, who is headlining the festival this year, also performed in 2009 on a small stage.

The video has resurfaced online and is pretty epic. Howser speaks with Paul Tollet, the festival’s founder, along with various attendees, most of which appear to be high or drunk. In typical Howser fashion, he is genuinely, overly amused at everything he encounters at the festival.

R.I.P. Huell Howser.
