Pizza e Vino serves up wood-fired Neapolitan pizza and other Italian favorites to the sleepy, bedroom community.

Pizza e Vino opened in Rancho Santa Margarita in 2008, right on the lake. It became the first pizzeria in Orange County to be certified by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, an international body dedicated to preserving the authenticity and quality of Neapolitan pizzas around the world. Yes, this spot takes its pizza seriously.

The pizza is made in a giant brick oven in the corner of the dining room, which is usually set at 850 degrees and might burst out in flames in front of your eyes. The pizza here is wood-fired, which results in a charred dough.

On to the pizza! This is a Pizza Burrata. It’s surely different than any other pizzas you’d find at your neighborhood pizza spot. This has fire roasted grape tomato, balsamic reduction and micro basil.

And what would a classic Italian meal be without finishing off with a cannoli? A tasty treat for sure.
