Man Spends $20, Wins $5 Million From Lotto Scratchers Bought In La Habra
Refugio Cortez won $5 million after buying $20 worth of Scratchers at King Liquor in La Habra.
A man won $5 million after winning a Scratchers game last month in La Habra, according to the California Lottery.
Refugio Cortez bought $20 worth of Scratchers tickets at King Liquor at 141 East Imperial Highway, according to the Lottery. Cortez turned in the wining ticket to the state lottery’s Santa Ana office on March 3.
Lottery officials say that Cortez wishes to remain low-key, and declined to release his photo or city of residence.
The liquor store that sold the ticket will receive a $25,000 bonus for selling the ticket, which will not come out of Cortez’s winnings.
