Here Are 15 Things On My OC Bucket List
Plain and simple, these are must-dos for any OC resident.
As someone who recently moved to Orange County, I can’t get over how much there is to do and see here! There are so many neat and unique things to do that I just had to create a bucket list. Plain and simple, these 15 things on my OC bucket list.
1. Visit Mission San Juan Capistrano
Mission San Juan Capistrano is gorgeous! Plus, it’s a great place for families to visit and to actually learn something about OC. The surrounding area is also fun to check out after a day at the mission with quaint shops and local eateries.
2. Go Whale Watching
You have to realize how lucky we are to live so close to such majestic beauty! You can get whale watching tickets for next to nothing with Groupon, and that’s a small price to pay to experience the ocean’s wildlife up close and personal.
3. Ride The Ferris Wheel At Balboa Island
Because why not?! As OC residents, you should be taking full advantage of a permanent amusement attraction! Pro tip: it makes a super sweet date night.
4. Attend An Angels Game
You don’t have to be an baseball fan to enjoy a game at our local stadium. The fun environment is worth the trip!
5. Take The Ferry To Catalina Island
I can’t be the only one who is dying for a Catalina day trip! Seeing what all the fuss is about is definitely worth the ferry ticket.
6. Spend A Day In Laguna Beach
Don’t be fooled by MTV’s portrayal of Laguna Beach—it’s an amazing and relaxing place! The beaches are beautiful, the art scene is happening, and there’s plenty of restaurants and bars to satisfy all your cravings.
7. Cheer On The Anaheim Ducks
Once again, it’s just one of those things you need to take advantage of while living in Orange County! Not everyone is lucky enough to have so many local sports teams.
8. Take Ride On The Great Park Balloon
When I first moved to Irvine and saw this giant orange ball in the sky, I wondered “WTF is that?!” Now I know, and I can’t wait for my trip on this silly contraption!
9. Visit Irvine Park During Christmas Time
Any place that goes all out with decorations at Christmas time is a place worth visiting.
10. Shop An OC Weekend Farmers Market
Not only do you live in California, a huge agricultural state, but you live in Southern California where it’s pretty much always sunny. Enjoy the weather and the fresh food by strolling through one of OC’s many farmers markets.
11. See A Show At The House Of Blues Anaheim
Downtown Disney is pretty much the most amazing place in Orange County, and the House of Blues is one of its main staples.
12. Explore The Santa Ana And Orange County Zoo
Personally, this is on my bucket list. If a city has a zoo, then I think it’s worth checking out and discovering what they have to offer.
13. Rent A Boat In Newport
Spend a day out on the water, and away from the fast-paced OC life. Boat rentals are relatively affordable and are an awesome way to enjoy a weekend.
14. Visit The Newport Bay Conservancy
Rent a kayak, or spend the day wandering through nature at this local conservation area. Orange County does a great job at providing clean and visitor-friendly outdoor areas such as this one.
15. Stay At A Crystal Cove Beach Cottage
What’s on your OC bucket list?
