A 43-year-old man was fighting with another person on Dohney Park Road. The fight escalated when the man was stabbed in the mid-back.

A scuffle near a homeless camp led to a stabbing late Wednesday night, according to The Orange County Register.

Around 11:40 p.m., a 43-year-old man was fighting with another person on Dohney Park Road, although it was unclear what the fight was about, officials said. The fight escalated when the man was stabbed in the mid-back.

The knife-wielding person fled the scene before deputies arrived, and the injured man was taken to a hospital with serious, but survivable injuries.

“He was living in a transient area on Dohney Park Road,” sheriff’s Lt. Steve Gil told the Register.

At the hospital, the man would not cooperate with officials or aid them in finding his attacker, Gil said.
