5 Reasons Why Going to Disneyland Alone Is The Greatest Thing Ever
I’ve learned that going to Disneyland by yourself far surpasses going in the company of anybody else. Here’s why.
I’ve been a Disneyland Deluxe Annual Passport Holder for about two years now. In that time, I’ve quickly learned the best times and places to go on a Disney day. You could consider me an expert. Who needs a map? I AM THE MAP.
But most importantly, I’ve realized that going alone might be the best option when hitting up the parks. Why?
1. Single rider line for days.
You will get on a ride about ten times as fast in a single rider line. Even if you’re in the regular line, employees will often look for a party of one to fill unused space.
Plus, no boring small talk. Even if you go on a Disney trip with friends and family, there’s only so much you can talk about while waiting in line.
2. Space for shows? Not a problem.
One chilly day in December, I went to Disneyland by myself. The holidays were nigh and it was crowded. Regardless, I watched Aladdin: The Musical Spectacular from the ground floor, saw the fireworks, Paint the Night Parade and slipped into Fantasmic minutes before it started. None of this would have been possible if I was with a larger group.
3. You get to do what you actually want to do.
I’m not a huge roller coaster person. California Screamin’ is a no go for me. I’ve ridden it once and that was enough. And when I’m accompanied by other thrill-seekers, I usually find myself waiting around until they are off the ride. Time I could be spending doing something I actually want to do.
When you’re there alone, you answer to no one but yourself!
4. Crowd weaving is way easier.
With my Disneyland experience, I have become an expert crowd weaver. And considering the amount of crowds at Disneyland, you’re going to have to crowd weave. Way easier when you’re not carrying around a group of people.
5. There’s nothing to draw you out of the magic
Being there by yourself, you truly feel like a kid again experiencing Disney for the first time. It’s totally pressure free and enveloping. The magic of Disneyland come back full force, and really, that’s why we all go in the first place, isn’t it?
