Irvine’s answer to the Anaheim Packing House and 4th Street Market is here.

The old Palm Cafe food court on Michelson and Bixby in Irvine is being remodeled and will reopen as TRADE Marketplace. According to OC Weekly, there are rumors of multiple concepts in the works by Afters Ice Cream founders Scott Nghiem and Andy Nguyen. Andrew Gruel of Slapfish and Hop Phan of Dos Chinos are also involved with new concepts.

The Weekly reports that Gruel will collaborate with Nghiem and Nguyen on a poutine concept. Did you hear that Leonard Chan? Nghiem and Nguyen will also operate a full bar. Gruel will open a grilled and fried chicken concept named Two Birds.

The Chippy Fish & Chips, who will be a tenant in the revamped food fall, states that the food hall could be opened as soon as March 20. It is unclear which current food concepts will remain in the hall after the remodel is complete. A mix of retail services is also expected throughout the plaza.

We will have updates once we receive more information.
